GCAC’s commitment to the environment is just as important as our commitment to producing a quality product. It is a point of pride with us that we strive to continuously improve.
Our constant improvement is demonstrated by:
- maintaining environmental permits for the fifty above ground storage tanks, loading/unloading facilities and combustion equipment needed to produce and market our products
- integrating environmental, health and safety initiatives into our employee culture that demand safe and environmentally responsible decisions and actions
- working to prevent spills and releases, reduce emissions, and conserve resources and raw materials
- working diligently to partner with waste management companies to ensure that the waste generated by all activities is disposed or destroyed responsibly
- developing emergency response plans and exercising and drilling those plans periodically to ensure facility employees are prepared to respond to any environmental incident
- complying with security requirements and staffing with well trained security personnel to implement the facility security plan
- investing in education of all employees on the importance of protecting the environment by providing training in all areas
- teaming with employees to encourage everyone to participate with their knowledge and expertise and thus bring all employees into the decision-making process
- measuring success by providing excellence in safety and health stewardship of the employees and contractors
